PHOSPHATE DEBATE FOR VINYL POOLS

The science of phosphate removal  for improved water quality is very sound and has been effectively proven for many years. Much data shows that even in the presence of other nutrients, the growth of algae is greatly limited by the absence of phosphate.

The pool chemical industry has acknowledged the validity of phosphate removal in vinyl pools. And by now vinyl pool-owners see the value of this reliable and proven technology. However, many things can contribute to the growth of algae in a swimming pool. These include heavy sunlight, warm water, poor circulation and rough surfaces like those of concrete pools. Vinyl pools have smooth surfaces, which is a help in controlling algae.

You can’t stop the sun, and much of the other nutrients required for algae growth. But you can remove phosphate from the water with pool-chemicals made for this purpose.
