I am more than willing to write a review of my experience with Rich and Paradise Pool and Spa. If I had to do it all over again, there is no pool company I would choose over Rich and Paradise. I am familiar with many pool companies in the area, and most of them aren’t known for having great reputations.
Paradise was a local company that I hadn’t heard of, but my wife and I enjoyed our meetings with Rich so much that we felt we should use him. Rich was willing to do whatever we wanted, and he had insightful feedback all along the way. Rich was readily available no matter the day or time. He was on site when he said he would be, and even when we didn’t expect him.
He was genuinely concerned about the process going smoothly, and being done exactly right.
We elected to save money and fill our pool using our well-water (NOT RECOMMENDED). This is the only thing I would have done differently, but it was not Rich’s decision or advice. Anyway, Rich was constantly visiting our pool to get the water right, and we could see the genuine concern it was causing him.
That’s how we knew Rich was the right choice. He is an old fashioned business man who can be trusted, not only to do what he says, but to go above and beyond. So refreshing.
I’m in the landscape business, and I can tell you that when it comes to liner pools, I will recommend Rich every day of the week, twice on Sunday.
The whole process was enjoyable and that is rare when it comes to home improvement projects. I will always be an available reference, and will give my recommendation gladly!

My wife and I had been shopping around for a pool installer and were
getting frustrated with the inflexibility, lack of response, and inflated
pricing we were receiving. Thankfully, some friends referred us to
Paradise Pool and Spa. I contacted Rich to schedule an appointment and he
was at my home the very next day. Rich is professional, friendly,
responsive and most importantly honest. My wife and I felt his pricing was
both fair and competitive. In addition, all the fears and concerns I had
about installing a pool were discussed and addressed. Rich and his team
built us an amazing pool in just over a couple weeks. Rich was on-site
throughout the entire project and constantly communicated what was
currently happening and what to expect the next couple of days. His team

I finally gave in to my family’s request for an in-ground pool this summer and, now that the entire process is over, must comment on the company we used and its owner/operator, Rich DeMarco. We started by checking out all the major companies, the ones you have heard of, the biggest names, to get pricing and ask questions. After a few stops, I decided to go on-line and look at the reviews for these companies. What I found was quite disturbing. One horror story after another of poor workmanship, unprofessional conduct, failure to stand behind the products and poor quality equipment. It almost stopped our project before we got started. I then put the search terms “best pool company of South Jersey” in and up popped Paradise Pool and Spa of Avalon, NJ,, owned by Rich DeMarco. I was astounded when review after review raved about the quality of this company’s work and, more importantly, the integrity of the owner. I was not expecting what I read. Based on what I read, I did not hesitate to hire this company to install our pool at my home in Cherry Hill. I have waited until the pool was completed, approved by Cherry Hill and closed for the season before writing this as I wanted to comment on all aspects of the experience. I can now add my review to those I read on-line, with confidence. First, my heartfelt thanks to Paradise Pool and Rich Demarco and his workers for a great job from start to finish. In addition to his many years of expertise, his extensive knowledge of the products and the pool industry overall, Rich brings the intangibles of dependability and honesty that you pray for as a customer when starting a large project such as this. I know it’s been 3 years since you built our pool and I have been procrastinating on writing this well deserved reference letter.
First, I was in the process of contracting a landscaper to cut down the trees in my backyard when he asked me if I was getting a pool. When I confirmed his question and told him that I was going to sign the paperwork the next day: he immediately asked me if I’ve heard of PARADISE POOL. Then he proceeded to tell me about the pool he purchased from you, and how honest you were…no nonsense talk and how great of a job you did with his pool. You were equal to or a little less in price that the builder that I was going with. He begged me to give you a call before I signed the paperwork. What sold me on calling you was how he spoke about your availability to him while his pool was being built. Whenever he had a question, he would pick up the phone and call you, and you would answer or return his call right away. No matter how minimal the question was, you were always there.
I called you that night (in November) and you came over the next day. My wife and I were sold on your honesty and no nonsense talk. Also, you gave us a firm date + or – 3 days when you were going to start our pool, and a completion date; which the other company that I was going to go with, couldn’t even give us a roundabout date when they were going to start, let alone finish.
What closed the deal with you and PARADISE POOL, was not price, but that you assured us that whatever question we had, we could call you anytime, and that you gave us your personal cell phone number and that you would be there through the whole building process. That’s exactly what the landscaper had said. Needless to say, he also got the contract to cut down our trees for the pool.
You started building our pool 1 day ahead and you finished right on time, and I’m sure it would have been done even sooner if it wasn’t for the bad weather. Everyone that worked building our pool was very professional, courteous, and did more work without being asked. Also, no additional fees, and like you said, you were there through the whole process and always returned our phone calls.
Well Rich, it’s been 3 years and my wife and I still call you with any questions we have pertaining to the pool. We recommended you to a friend in Pennsauken 2 years ago, and she also had a great experience, and we will continue to recommend you if we hear of anyone that is going to purchase a pool.
With this letter I am enclosing a couple of pictures of the pool with the landscaping that my wife has done, and we give you our permission to use us as a reference and use our pool as a sample of your work to future customers.

I would like to compliment you on the excellent service you provided last month. Six years after we purchased our pool from you, you were there when we needed you. In closing our pool for the winter it seems someone poled a hole in the liner. The hole was on a seam and irreparable. When I called you I hoped that you would be good to your word about helping your customers “down the road”. You immediately realized that the liner could not be repaired and ordered an exact replacement of the original, which arrived in only one week. You then arranged for Bob, who had installed the original liner, to install the replacement. Bob committed to replacing it the following weekend. He arrived as promised and had the old liner removed and new liner in in less than 5 hours!!! Both Bob and I were impressed by the quality of the walls and floor of the pool after the original liner was removed. Even though approximately 10,000 gallons of water had leaked during the winter and spring there was absolutely no sign of damage to the pool walls, base or surrounding earth. This is a compliment to your design and construction techniques. Rich, not every company would extend themselves as much as you have when there is no money to be made for the effort. Your help is proof that you honor your commitment to your customers, both present and past. If you ever need an endorsement, please call on me.

Well, it’s been about six weeks since the completion of our new pool. We’ve been so busy enjoying it that I haven’t had a chance to write. This was the perfect year to have the pool built since it’s been one of the hottest years I can remember. The kids are loving it and Debbie and I are enjoying it too. Just last Friday our daughter had a sweet sixteen with her friends, and the pool was a big hit. The salt system has been performing beautifully. I can’t tell you how many friends I’ve had tell about the problems they’ve been having with their pools being cloudy or having algae problems. I had to use the super chlorinate feature for one day after a long heat spell. Other than that, there has been absolutely no problem with the system keeping the chlorine level in perfect range. I run the pump for about eight hours a day and that seems to be just right for now. As I sit by the pool, I can’t help but remember all the things you did to make sure everything was perfect. Dealing with the marl clay was a major headache. There were chunks of it all around the pool. Knowing that stuff is next to impossible to grade, you went out and got some soil to cover it at your own expense and because the water would not drain out of the hole properly, you go the stone for the bottom, again at your own expense. That;s what separates you from the rest. You are a man of your word, and when things don’t go perfectly, you do what needs to be done to make it right. I almost forgot about the liner. When we realized we had the wrong liner, you acted quickly to get the right one and there was only about a week delay because of it. That’s taking care of business Through it all, you were completely professional, always available and accessible. Thank you for making the experience as stress free as possible. We hope to see you some time in the near future.
