HEATPUMPS FOR POOLS IN NEW JERSEY
HEATPUMPS FOR POOLS IN THE NORTHEAST…According to Eric Gabrielson of Raypak Pool Heaters, heat pumps are not magical; they do not produce free heat. Heat pumps do not heat pool-water at the same rate as conventional pool-heaters. Their strength and operational savings are in maintaining water temperature. Be advised of the strengths and weaknesses of pool heat-pumps. They don’t give instant heat to the pool-water, they gradually heat the water, and their performance depends on factors such as water flow, plumbing connections, abundance of air flow around the unit and exposure to sun for increased heat absoption, pump/filter running time, insulating covers, pool surface, sun exposure and wind conditions. If a pool owner wants almost instant heat for the pool-water, a gas heater is better. That’s similar to the heater in your home; turn up the thermostat and the heater kicks on.
